2010 Crusader Hall of Fame
Announcing the 2010 Boston Crusaders Hall of Fame Inductees!
Congratulations to the following on their induction into the Boston Crusaders Hall of Fame.  The awards ceremony is part of the Crusaders' Spring Fling, in a  little over two weeks, on June 18.  Congratulations to the class of 2010!  Come and celebrate with them on the 18th.

Jim and Ann Hughes

Jim and Ann have been actively involved with the Crusaders dating back to the 1960’s.  They tirelessly donate their time, energy and resources to both the Crusader senior and junior corps. Their selfless giving is an example to all generations of the Crusader family by continuing to give back and helping to keep the Crusaders alive and well cared for.

Jason Maxner

Jason was a member of the Crusaders from 1991 through 1997.  He aged out as a drum major and a leader of the corps.  He was active with the corps until his tragic death in 1999.  Even though Jason left us, his legacy continues through a scholarship in his name that is awarded annually.  The impact that Jason made on the corps is remembered by many of the vast friendships he established through his involvement with the Crusaders.  We are all a little bit better because Jason was a Crusader.

Jerry Noonan

Jerry was a former member of the North Star and is considered one of the all-time best DCI soloists. The end of the 1982 season marked the fall of many local corps and yet another challenging time for the Crusaders.  Despite the uncertainty of the future, no pay for services and just a handful of brass players, Jerry stepped up to the opportunity to become a part of the Crusader family. From the fall of 1982 through the 1991 season, Jerry was the arranger and brass caption head for a small, strong and entertaining brass line.  He donated his time, talent and dedication during one of, if not the most, aggressive rebuilding periods the corps has experienced. He is an honorary member of the Boston Crusaders and continues to support the corps through various fundraising programs.

Ed Rooney

Ed was a founding leader of the M.P.B. Drum and Bugle Corps.  Ed managed the Corps from 1940 through 1955.  He was responsible for adding the Crusader name and leading the corps on our climb to a national competitor culminating by winning the VFW Nationals prelims in 1954.  He had a flare for entertainment and was well known in the parish and drum corps community for his active involvement in many corps as well as church minstrel shows.
