January Update
Friday January 15 saw the return of warm weather to Florida just in time for the Crusaders to roll into town. Program Coordinator Jay Kennedy arrived with  music for the hornline hot off the presses, and the instructional staff prepared to whittle the final membership down to the 2010 instrumentation.

Before camp officially starts with the opening meeting, early arrivals will often get together to go over music or visual in informal review blocks.  After a brief opening meeting, the corps went into sectionals.  Saturday started out with a long physical training session, followed by more playing as the hornline sightread the music that Kennedy brought to camp.  A 4 hour visual block Saturday afternoon introduced some new visual concepts and exercises (homework for Feb).Visual block indoors

Saturday evening was back to sectionals.  The percussion had their own ensemble block to put together music for what can be termed the "opener" while the hornline chunked through their 5 minutes of music.  Torrential rain struck Saturday, but the ample facilities at Lakewood Ranch were enough to enable everyone to stay effective while practicing indoors.

The weather turned back to favorable conditions on Sunday and both a visual and music review led to a brief ensemble block outside on Sunday afternoon.  The corps played through 3 minutes of music as a complete ensemble, plus an additional 2-3 minutes of just brass.Sunday Ensemble
