On Saturday, January 9, four Crusaders return to the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Game. The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is the premier high school football game in the nation.Â
Produced by SportsLink, it features the nation's top high school senior football players and marching musicians. Students receive a paid trip to San Antonio to march in the halftime performance of the All-American Bowl at the Alamodome. The students are honored in a national selection tour and receive media recognition.
The Crusaders are pround to announce four of our own participating in the week's events.
Jay Kennedy, Program Coordinator and Brass Arranger is also the arranger for the 2010 All-American Halftime Show.
Wayne Dillon, Crusaders Brass Caption Head will be working with the brass section.
In addition, two of our 2009 members will be performing in the halftime show:
James Dawson, Trumpet - James has earned Varsity Letters in Drill, Rifle, and Marching Band activities. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and Rho Kappa History Honor Society. James has has worked hard for the honor of the Army JROTC Academic Excellence Award for the Junior Class, Alpha Company Commander.
Lauren Henry, All DCI Color Guard - Lauren is the Lewisville High School Color Guard captain in Lewisville, TX. Outside of the marching arts, Lauren has traveled the globe for domestic and International mission trips including Russia and Mexico. She volunteers with several community projects for under-privileged families, including distribution of lunches to children, Thanksgiving baskets, Soup Mobile providing food and shelter, and providing support of orphans program. Lauren is also a Denton County Emergency Preparedness volunteer.
